The Final Book Cover

This Final cover design takes my finalized wordmark and puts it into the story.

The Blue Envelope of the cover refences the bright blue envelope that contains a letter to Milo and the beginning of the book when the tollbooth first appears as well as the letter left behind after it disappears at the end.

The cover is monochromatic to allow the type to blend with the imagery and feel more phantom-esque.

The Dog with a clock for a body as a seal on the letter refers to Tock the Watchdog that is Milo's main companion throughout the story.

On the spine of the book there is a blue door. This refers to the description of the entrance to Dictionopolis (page 80).

The illustrations of Milo and other characters are the original illustrations by Jules Feiffer that he created for Juster's story.

On the inside panels of the dust jacket at the beginning and end are the letters to Milo that he receives in the blue envelopes. On the letter from the end it says that the signature was blurred and you could not read it which is why I chose to make the signature on the book as such.

Lastly, when the dust Jacket is removed from the book it reveals a map of The Land beyond and plots where the main characters first appear. This allows for the Dust Jacket to be used for reference while reading or serve as a poster for the reader, making the book cover feel more personal, inviting, and considerate of the audience.
