The Rough Drafts
After re-reading The Phantom Tollbooth and making note of some key points in the book, I began my process of designing some rough drafts of book covers.

From here I am going to push the Blue Envelope concept. This concept has the best connection to the content of the story while maintaining a friendly and magical tone. As I want the cover to emphasize the characteristics of the story I will work on developing a more refined and specific wordmark before I continue with the cover itself. To improve the cover I plan to enhance the idea of "phantom" with the type while also refining composition and hierarchy.
